Beauty: How to achieve the dewy/glowing makeup look?

I know, with our tropical weather (here in the Philippines), creating Dewy look might be risky since it will tend to look like oily or greasy. But, if it is done perfectly well, it will give you that "GLOWING" look.. That lit from within aura. Actually this is my favorite look, that Jennifer Lopez dewy make-up she's been sporting.

So here's some of the products that I use on my make-up gigs and even on myself when I want to get that "GLOW".

1. NARS Orgasm Illuminator

NARS Illuminator in Orgasm is more of a peachy pink shade. How i use this? well there are 2 ways. One is is use this over powder blush. Second is use this before powder blush. All I need is a pea size amount of this product on my palm, and dub this on my cheeks and spread it evenly on my cheeks. And tadah!! Glowy cheeks! When I use this 'before powder', I tried it with my Nars Orgasm blush and it is really gorgeous!


2. MAC Mineralized Skinfinish

MAC Stereo Rose, A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face.(mac website)

We don't want disco balls on our cheeks. So too much of glitters in not likable, as for my preference. And yes! Thanks for MAC Mineralized SkinFinish since the glitters are tiny and the glitters doesn't scream "I have glitters on my face!!", just the right amount.

This has been staple item in many makeup artists' kit since this is very easy to use. You can wear this alone or on top of your favorite blush. You will only need to buff your blush brush on this baked powder, smile and put on your cheeks! Very very nice on pictures!

3. MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural

Why this powder? Since this is mineralized, this powder once applied, has something in it that creates glow on your face. I remember that one of my client loves this. She even want to buy one for her own use. That's how good this product is. This can be applied alone after your moisturizer or after your bb cream/foundation.

4. BB Cream

Any brand will do. There is something about BB cream that I love. It is not flat (super matte) on the face. The glow is just right and it also acts as moisturizer too! So for that dewy look, I think, BB Cream is the best option instead of the usual liquid foundation. I don't own any CC Cream which is now creating waves on the makeup world, so I can't compare it with BB Cream.

This red dress from Valentino is very expensive but the style is just so fabulous.. what you think? I paired it black pumps since I don't want to over power the dress. The red diamond earrings added credits to the dress while the diamond ring added glam to the whole outfit. The YSL red clutch is very nice with the dress.

You can always get some inspiration from the fashion styling I created. You can always go to some retail stores since Fashion should not be expensive. Happy shopping girls!

 Based on my experience, this BB Cream is so heavy on the skin, as if you are putting cream based foundation. It tends to create powdery effect on me, which is not my type since I'm in love in dewy effect make-up. This also tends to sit on the lines on your face so better put some moisturizers on your face prior to BB Cream application.

I bought the lightest shade which is Fresh since this is the same shade I use with the other liquid BB Cream.
This really is light on my face. Putting this alone on my face is good enough thus I don't need to put powder after.

Verdict:

     Pros:

• It is affordable (Php 275)
• Perfect for oily skin
• Controls oil
• Very nice on pictures when worn

   Cons:

• Dry patches on the face (if you have dry skin)
• I don't know but I had some breakouts while using it
• Not my type, coz I love dewy skin

I'm still in the hunt for that perfect BB Cream. Will post some of my recent purchases soon. I am eye-ing for that Nars Sheer foundation. Do you have any suggestions? Feel free to post comments below.

Fashion: Legally PINK

This outfit screams PINK!!! Pink is a feminine color. The color is eye-catchy and definitely would feel you are a barbie doll. With my chosen pieces, the key piece is actually the LACE SHORTS!.

Lacey clothes are definitely 'in" now in the fashion scene. The lace actually looks so girly on its own way. I paired it with a plain pink top but the details are not ordinary. The v-neckline of the pink top is not too sexy or revealing, just the right amount of sexiness. 

With the accessories, the bag is in floral design which I love. The bag compliments the bracelet/bangles also in floral. The watch is more of a rose gold, since I don't want to overly pair every detail in pink. The earrings?? Oh I love this earrings! It literally livens up the whole outfit.

Lastly, the shoes, well, I want to compliment my pink top and this type of shoes will make your legs more lean and long. Also, it is girly too!

What type of events can you wear this outfit?

Well on parties, birthdays and just meeting up with your boyfriend. Why not right? He would probably look at you and tell you how gorgeous you are!

Fashion: Denim on White dress

This easy friday outfit is inspired by my own stylish idea. LOL. Well, I'm fond of browsing Fashion Blogs such as those of Camille Co, Kryz Uy and Tricia Gosingtian (Filipina Fashion Bloggers). Also, I do visit lookbook.nu and chictopia like a lot. Maybe a stylist in me lingers on. I even fantasized being the next Liz Uy. haha! Enough of my impromptu..This is my very first post on my cravings in fashion. I really love how Denim looks good on any white clothes. Thus I created this one.

The little white dress is a must in every woman's closet.Why? Because it can be use during summer for that clean yet flowy look and during winter/cold seasons the simple denim jacket on a white dress can do the trick. However, the Denim Jacket is not only useful during the summer. Hence, it has now become staple in adding up oommp to your look.

The colorful wedge I chose was composed of the colors Green, Blue , Black etc. With this type of shoes, the color do balance the plain color of the white dress. The bag is in pale color, that is not to contrast the shoes and the clothes. This satchel is not so boyish. It is stylish and looks good with the denim jacket.

For the accessories, the white Michael Kors bag compliments the white dress and the blue bracelet adds up to the total look. The blue bracelet compliments the blue wedge. The studded diamond heart earrings adds sweetness to the overall look.

The pink lipstick is so girly. Perfect look!

TRAVELS: The Greenery Bulacan

The Lighthouse

The Greenery Bulacan situated at San Juan St. Rio Vista Subd, Sabang, Baliuag, Bulacan is a hub for any special occasion.  There are three theme-based venues such as the Lighhouse, the Open Garden and Paviliion. The Greenery is formerly known as TGI Pavilion when it started way back 2001. It was then operated in one venue. And now, It become a full-blown resort, Thus, a lot of the wedding has been catered by The Greenery.

Floating Gazebo

 The Floating Gazebo gives you the overview of the lake where some of the visitors can kayak, This floating gazebo has also been used as an entourage trail for actual garden wedding. This is really dramatic since the floating gazebo are decorated with flowers and colorful light. Perfect for those who wants evening wedding.

The Villas

 For your accommodation, The Greenery offers 'The Villas' which actually have the same style with the American Home. There are single villas and the Grand Villa. The single villa can accommodate up to 4 persons while the Grand Villa is composed of 5 rooms perfect for the whole family. When we went there, the tour guide showed how the rooms looks like and I must say that the Grand Villa is superb. Each room has its own bathroom, TV, cabinets. Grand Villa also has its own lounge area and terrace. Just imagine that the villa is your home away from home..For the rates, you can check out their website: thegreenery.ph

Infinity Pool

This by far is my favorite place of The Greenery. The infinity pool actually lives up to my expectation. The water is clean and the cottages are luxurious. The tour guide told us that this infinity pool has its own lights just beneath the pool which looks dramatic at night. If you booked your accommodation in here, you can also use the pool. This spot is also perfect for photo shoots. Actually the whole place is perfect for photo shoots that's why The Greenery is a favorite for prenup photo shoots.Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon's Prenup as such.

The Pavilion

 What's behind me is the Pavilion perfect for indoor wedding reception. During our visit,  there's a wedding event so I can't take any pictures inside the pavilion. But based on what I observed, the Pavilion looks ordinary to me.Nothing too fancy.

This train actually operates! You may only be charged for 3000 if you want your guests to use this. I don't know why its too expensive but I believe the children will more likely benefit from the train.


Overall, The Greenery Bulacan is a perfect venue for a wedding or any occasions. If you are a newbie photographer, the place is also perfect for creating your portfolio since the place looks good on any angle. I am still thinking if I should get this place as my wedding reception since it is too far from Manila and might be too expensive for our budget. Maybe a perfect place for our prenup instead. How to go to The Greenery?

Via Commute:

 You can ride Baliwag Transit Terminals in Cubao or Caloocan. Ride the Bus going to Baliuag Bulacan and alight at the last stop (Baliwag Poblacion Terminal). A church can be your landmark.Ride a tricycle going to Rio Vista Subd Sabang. From our experience, not all the tricycle drivers know where the greenery is, so better just ask them to take you to Rio Vista Subdivision, Sabang. From there, you can see signage going to The Greenery.

Via Private Car:
From the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Take the Sta. Rita Exit and proceed further north to Baliuag, Bulacan. Pls. take note and follow directional signs of the Greenery located along the stretch of the national highway leading to Baliuag. You will pass by the town of Plaridel & Pulilan before reaching Baliuag.

TRAVELS: Our Lady of Victoneta Chapel, Malabon

Our Lady of Victoneta Chapel located at Victoneta Avenue in Malabon Metro Manila, looks so familiar for those who are fond of watching teleseryes especially ABS-CBN's teleserye such as Walang Hanggan, Pangako Sa'Yo and the recently concluded Ina, Kapatid Anak.The place is located in an exclusive village in Malabon and thus, the chapel is private too. Owned by the Araneta's. Weddings are held at this place often and booking for wedding should be advance for months.

The front view of the church  is a simple facade of brick in gray color and what I love is the trees that surrounds the chapel. These bring so much solemnity of the place and you would feel that you were not in the city.

This picture inside the church..The color is so feminine. The design of the altar is not too fancy which I like.

This is the clubhouse situated just a few steps away from the church.  If you want to hold a wedding event, debut, or other occasions, this is just a right place.

Once you book the place, the pool can also be used. The surrounding is just refreshing.!

HOW TO GET HERE:
Coming from south, you can ride LRT1 and take off at Monumento Station and ride a a jeepney going to Malanday, Meycauayan or any jeep going to valenzuela. Take off at Victoneta Avenue Malabon just right across the Pateros School. From there, you will only need to walk going to this chapel.
